How a piece leaves the atelier
Every work is packed by hand in Clallam Bay, Washington.
Each piece is placed in its presentation case, cushioned on all six sides, and double-boxed within an outer carton. The packed box is photographed before it is sealed. That photograph becomes part of the record of the work, and it is what allows a claim to be settled quickly in the rare event that something goes wrong in transit.
Nothing is dispatched until the work has been catalogued, its documentation prepared, and its inclusions checked against the listing.
Processing time
Pieces are prepared for dispatch within 3 to 5 business days of your order.
Because the Boutique releases work in two collections each year, a release may occasionally see several pieces packed at once. If your dispatch will take longer than five business days, we will write to you.
You will receive tracking as soon as a label is created.
Where we ship
We ship worldwide, with the exception of destinations where insured, tracked service is unavailable or where import restrictions make delivery unreliable. A current list of exceptions appears at checkout; if we cannot ship to you, your order will be cancelled and refunded in full.
Transit times are estimates from the carrier and begin at dispatch, not at order. They exclude time held in customs, which is outside our control and can add days or occasionally weeks.
Insurance
Every piece ships fully insured for its purchase price, domestic and international alike, at no additional cost to you.
Insurance is placed through a specialist fine-art and collectibles insurer rather than through the carrier's standard coverage, which caps well below the value of most works in the collection. This is why we ask for photographs if a parcel arrives damaged: the claim is made against that documentation.
Signature on delivery
All shipments require a signature. Please provide an address where someone can receive the parcel, or arrange to collect it from your local carrier facility.
We cannot authorise a carrier to leave a work unattended, and coverage does not extend to a parcel released without signature at the recipient's instruction.
Customs, duties, and import taxes
For international orders, any duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or charges levied by your country are your responsibility and are payable to the carrier or customs authority, not to us. These are separate from the shipping rate above.
We are required to declare the full value of each work accurately on all customs documentation. We cannot undervalue a declaration, mark a shipment as a gift, or alter a description, and we are unable to make exceptions to this.
If a parcel is refused, abandoned, or returned to us because duties were not paid, we will refund the purchase price less shipping and any charges incurred in the return.
Addresses
Please check your delivery address carefully before completing your order. Once a label is created and a work is in transit, we cannot redirect it.
If a work is returned to us as undeliverable because of an incorrect or incomplete address, we will contact you and can re-ship at your cost.
If a parcel is delayed, damaged, or lost
Tracking sometimes stalls for several days, particularly in customs, and then resumes. This is common and usually resolves on its own.
If tracking has not moved for 10 business days domestically, or 21 business days internationally, write to us and we will open an inquiry with the carrier. Carriers will not declare a parcel lost until their own waiting period has elapsed — roughly 15 days domestically and 30 to 45 days for international service — and a claim cannot be filed before then. We will keep you informed throughout, and where a work is confirmed lost we will refund you in full.
If your piece arrives damaged, please see our Returns & Refunds policy, and write to us within 3 days of delivery with photographs of the outer carton, the inner packaging, and the work itself. Please keep all packaging materials until the matter is settled.
